Founded in 2002 by the Florida Department of Management Services, we replaced outdated systems with a modern solution. Our commitment to efficiency has already saved the state millions while empowering over 200,000 employees.

My Journey in Public Service and Human Resources

Florida Department of Management Services

2020 – Current, HR Operations Specialist

In my role, I supported the transition from legacy HR systems to the People First platform, ensuring a smooth implementation process. I collaborated with various stakeholders to gather requirements and optimize system features tailored for state employees.

I provided training and guidance to over 200,000 state employees on using the platform effectively, focusing on payroll, benefits, and retirement options. My goal was to empower individuals to maximize their use of available resources.

I regularly analyzed user feedback to identify areas for system enhancement, leading to improved user experiences and process efficiencies within the HR functions of Florida’s state agencies.

State of Florida Recruitment Office

2016 – 2020, Recruitment Coordinator

As a Recruitment Coordinator, I facilitated the hiring processes by managing job postings and assisting applicants with the People First system. My focus was on streamlining the onboarding experience for new hires.

I collaborated with hiring managers to understand their needs and developed targeted recruitment strategies that aligned with state regulations and hiring best practices.

Analyzing recruitment data allowed me to develop insights and reports that informed decisions on future hiring initiatives, ensuring we attracted top talent to serve Florida’s public workforce.

2009 – 2016, Employee Benefits Advisor

In this capacity, I advised state employees on benefits offerings, including health insurance and flexible spending accounts. I provided personalized assistance to help them make informed decisions.

I facilitated workshops and information sessions that educated employees about available benefits, highlighting important deadlines and changes in policies to ensure compliance and awareness.
